ABOUT CHINMAY KUMAR PADHY

Chinmaya Kumar Padhy, founder and Artistic Director of S2S, is fondly referred to as the “Filmy Guy” due to his innate love for Bollywood, which has become his attitude and way of life. He is a multi-faceted dancer and performer with a background that includes Bollywood, Contemporary, Hip-hop, Jazz, Ballet, Bharathanatyam, and Kathak.

Specializing in Bollywood and contemporary styles, Chinmaya has trained extensively for five years under Shiamak Davar, the guru of contemporary dance in India and founder of Shiamak Davar's Institute of Performing Arts (SDIPA). As an up-and-coming choreographer, he had the honor of working with Sandip Soparrkar at Sandeep Soparrkar’s Ballroom Studio (SSBS) for over two years.

Chinmaya achieved recognition in the dance field when he appeared on the Indian television dance reality show 'DID Doubles.' His career took

flight when he opened his own dance academy, Soul 2 Sole, in 2012, marking the beginning of his passion for teaching. He has an extensive list of choreography and leading artistic work, including coaching contestants on reality shows like Dance India Dance, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Nach Baliye, and others.

Chinmaya is known for his powerful dance moves and vivacious facial expressions. He is popularly called the 'King of Expressions and Bollywood Dance' among his contemporaries. With his unique teaching charisma and unflagging intensity in class, he is indisputably the most sought-after instructor at S2S.
